Transformation of a 1950s house
This former Shell house is situated between the Brakkeput Mei Mei restaurant and the Asiento harbot. The original home was built in the 1950s for a then Shell director. The house was built on a fantastic location with breathtaking views over the Spanish water. The dated house has been converted into a modern tropical home. The modern villa is located in Brakkeput Mei Mei.
The house and outbuildings needed a thorough renovation to meet the current standards and the wishes of our client. The former guest house has been completely demolished and replaced by a carport. The former carport was completely stripped, and only the supporting structure was left standing. This structure has been transformed into a spacious guest apartment. For the house, except for the outside walls, the construction floors and a single supporting wall, the house was completely stripped.
Architecture
Through a long driveway you arrive at the imposing entrance of the house. Three high facades finished with shutters mark the facade of the house, with oak accents added to give the whole a tropical character. The main residential areas are situated in a way that the views over the Spanish water and the table mountain are optimally used. The very spacious covered terrace has beautiful views over the new swimming pool, Spanish water and the Caribbean Sea.
